Warren W. Kessler has received national recognition for his oil, watercolor, and acrylic paintings, earning multiple awards and accolades. Featured in several prominent art magazines, including American Art Collector (April 2018), Fine Art Connoisseur (July/August 2016), Acrylic Artist Magazine (Fall 2014) and Professional Artist Magazine (December 2013/January 2014), he was named in “Ones to Watch” in Watercolor Artist Magazine (December 2009).
Recent participation in juried exhibitions include the Peto Biennial: International Juried Art Exhibition of Contemporary Still Life and Trompe L'Oeil, Island Heights NJ (2016), Plein Air Artists Colorado’s 18th Annual National Juried Fine Art Exhibition (2014) in Denver, Colorado and Northwest Watercolor Society 73rd Annual Open International Exhibition, Mercer Island, Washington, at which he received the 2013 Vision Award. In 2014, he received his first museum exhibit, Prairie Horizons, Warren W. Kessler and Jon Offutt, at the Rourke Art Museum in Moorhead, MN.
Kessler views painting as a visual compilation of thousands of thoughts; each brush mark is a record of a deliberate decision. He is currently exploring two bodies of work in seeming opposition to each other. His plein air oil paintings on wood panels express an impression of the landscape, while his trompe l’oeil paintings capture in exacting detail a story he wishes to tell.
Warren is a signature member of two art societies: The National Watercolor Society and the Red River Watercolor Society. His work is included in museum, corporate and private collections.
He earned his Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 1999. He currently lives and works in Fargo, North Dakota.
